Someone once said probably not so long ago 'You can take anything if you want it enough.'
This is true I think, but you have to cross a lot of lines, you have to do things which are morally grey.
I'm asking you, do you think it's worth it?

Sometimes you wonder whether life's boundaries are worth crossing, but what are borders made for than to be broken? If someone offered any of us the lifetime we chose for merely something morally incorrect (an example can be found in team america) look, when it comes to it we would. There is no confusion there. Humans are greedy selfless idiots who look no further than there own nose most of the time. Look at air crashes. When the planes land and most people get out of the aeroplane, those who don't probably died from being mercilessly trampled by others trying to escape. So the question shouldn't be is it worth it, but how do we stop it being ingrained in the human psyche?
ReplyDeleteHumans are indeed greedy, but perhaps not selfless idiots. As a race i dislike humans.
ReplyDeleteI do not talk about crossing morally grey boundaries for drastic things, but the general way you live your life, the smaller rewards, but morals you still break knowingly, regardless of the disapproval it can bring. Love makes humans have endless capability for sacrifice dont you think?
Yes love does, and love is always ridiculously powerful. I would never wish the pain that you feel inside when the one you love slips from your grasp. The dull ache that fills you from head to toe. You would do anything to get them back, and that is why love creates sacrifice. It also hurts. LLB.
ReplyDeleteYet you keep loving, regardless of hurt, for hope of love to come, because the feeling is so exquisite that you crave more, and cling onto it, like you cling to life.
ReplyDeleteLove is too powerful, for it's only an idea, an idea turned into a feeling.
Not even as a sacrifice to get them back, when another being matters more than your own survival, their flesh value above yours, when the pleasures of being a part of matter, everything you can feel, the pleasures of life don't matter. When you love someone like that, for them you'd give yourself.
Yes I'd agree with your statement there LLG. That is how I would define true love. But it is also how I would define true hell. What shameful feeling is so powerful that one would rank the other above their personal self. Even when we ascertained earlier that generally the human race is evil. Why is it God instilled a feeling so powerful into human beings that we would die for one another. Or some greater cause (war). Though perhaps we should consider ourselves lucky. We aren't as caring for our families as one octupus is, who dies in the process of caring for her children, in order to keep them safe. A point to ponder on. LLB.
ReplyDeleteYou believe in god and you've felt love(I assume).
ReplyDeleteThe human race isn't evil. There's no such thing, it is good too.
Other animals would die for each other too, we aren't alone in this respect.
I think that there are so many kinds of love. Perhaps true love is not that they are above you, but that you love them so much as an equal, that life without them is pointless, and therefore anything goes with regard to defending them. There is also the self sacrifice of instinct, wired into our genetics to protect our own offspring for instance.
I haven't before heard of octopus self sacrifice, and I'm well versed in zoology.
Some families are as caring, but the human race has so mny variations and loop holes there is no one trend of the species towards caring for young.
Responding to your first comment yes I have felt love, and whether I have found a 'God' I am not sure, sometimes I hope I have for my thoughts to be dashed once more. Yes perhaps that is what true love is, but I cannot ignore the fact that when it comes to it, all any species is programmed to do is to procreate, so as to continue the genetic line. This satisfies the reasoning behind the self sacrifice of instict as you so call it above, but I can't see a reason why 'love' has such a profound effect on the human body. Seeing within mongamous animals this is due to the fact that either of the mature animals would not be able to survive outside of the relationship for numerous reasons, but in this new, multi cultural and accepting politically correst (which for want of note I totally detest) either members of a relationship could turn tails and run but don't. Perhaps some do turn and run, and this is why we have the culture today where one in four marriages ends up as a divorce. LLB.
ReplyDeleteSo you wish to find god? Why?
ReplyDeleteHow did your love turn out?
We are meant to procreate and still some creatures eat their own young. To our species it seems to be madness. Some parents don't care for their children within our species, you might think our instincts are fading, everything about our race becomes dull. Our senses are under used. We are lazy creatures.
Monogamous animals are often capable of living alone or finding a new mate and yet don't. Why?
(so you dislike society? or you dislike political correctness?)
I disapprove of the marriages ending in divorce. It wasn't this bad before. People these days just leave each other like it means nothing. Promises and swears aren't what they were. It's all corrupted.
Whether I wish to find God is a different to whether I want to try and finally work out who he is. If I am honest, he scares me and that is why i have stayed away for so long, but I also dont want to become a Christian preacher. It is all about subtle balance in life. I do not feel the habit of eating ones young should be seen as especially appauling as it is natures 'survival of the fittest' in action, the fact that only the strong survive and the weak are required to get the strong animals strong. And these monogamous animals could not find a new mate so there is no others. So they could not split. That is a self perpetuating circle. It is also the removal of the survival of the fittest that i feel is partly responsible for the demise of the true human species. Don't think i want all weak humans to die in an endless flame, but a little competition in life wouldn't go amiss would it. I feel both society and the government have got it wrong. Take a chill pill once in a while and get the jokes. They're funny. And divorces are not right. Since when did 'til death do us part' become 'til death (or when I find the new hot bimbo from down the street) do us part. It's wrong, and society is corrupted. LLB
ReplyDeleteWell you ought to be afraid, if he exists, he's a perverted tyrant.
ReplyDeleteYes humans probably need a little push into surviving, we're living but not really alive these days. I dont want to suggest genocide or eugenics, that's too much, but something more subtle. You could argue in some sense that we are evolving still, but not in the way you'd expect, not through being the fittest, but rather the smartest, or even the cruelest.
You have excellent points of view (because I agree with them) and yet, you're different.
Monogamous animals you talk of, they could find another mate, but I think they are afraid. They fear letting go to reach out in the dark, when they don't know what will reach out in return.
We are even more similar than I think we both think we are. Yes, that is why there has been such an uptake on extreme sports and adrenaline rush activities. It is the only way we can make ourselves feel alive nowadays. Yes, they probably are afraid to reach into the dark, but aren't we all. Sometimes nothing is more appealing than sitting back relaxing and enjoying the ride that life throws at you without doing too much in return. Finally if he exists, yes he is a tyrant. That is why maybe I wouldn't mind being on his good side. LLB.
ReplyDeleteThere is too much rebellion in me to accept the hold of a tyrant, unless the tyrant was a lover, or I was unaware of his hold in the first place.
ReplyDeleteWe are all essentially the same, born so similar genetically, if you think about it, the difference in our genetics are so small, and yet it matters so much. I like to think we are all born with the ability to love, whatever our differences, if we are conscious beings, we are capable of it.
I enjoy an adrenline rush now and then. I find I have a perversion for play fighting, because of the aggression it unlocks within you, you can connect with your beast and you can feel the adrenaline, the power your body was bred to hold.
Perhaps this want of rebellion is your primordial desire for your adrenaline rush, and maybe this is the cause of the youth 'uprising' of the recent years, an excuse to express what we all want to feel, that 'power your body was bred to hold' as you so aptly put it. And we are all so similar, but as you say those small genetic differences make the change, or is it indeed nurture, not nature which creates a large proportion of who you are. LLB.
ReplyDeleteboth. if my father hadnt taught me his lessons and filled me with his knowledge, then i think any intelligence i was born with wouldnt be put to use, and so fade.
ReplyDeleteit is also his lessons and anecdotes, added with how i grew up watching several different countries, and also my two brothers of another world, being alone still, my parents not outwardly showing love, all of it, i bless it, because if it had not happened i wouldnt be quite so amazing as I am now.
I would trade nothing of my life, for anything.
This is the best life I could have been given and only love of my parents would make me give that up.
For lack of the outward show of love, I learnt to love myself, and damn well. I learnt to entertain myself for being an only child, and create things with my mind. For living with two brothers, I learnt rejection, how to be tough, and how to find my way round a jungle, handle a knife and such. For living on a farm, I learnt love of animals. Being born of two worlds makes me see both sides of an argument, makes me accept people regardless of colour or group. Watching romance as a child nurtured my unfailing belief in love. And more besides.
Sorry this is going to be a short reply but even LLB must sleep sometime. I am glad that your family treats you well, and that they are the reason you are. I am the same. Sleep well LittleLionGirl. LLB.
ReplyDeleteBravo. Yet I doubt that it was guess work.
